September 27th 2016 @ 1839hrs - Companies 17, 13, HC4, HC13, 34, 08, and HAZMAT units were dispatched for a small plane crash with fire, near Ruppert's Nursery along Route 108 between Rocky Rd & Hawkins Creamery Rd. Company 17 units could see smoke just outside of town while responding. Access to the site is very difficult. Company 17 crews made it to the site, quickly knocked the fire down. Unfortunately, the pilot did not survive. Units from Laytonsville were PM-ENGINE 717, RESCUE SQUAD 717, TANKER 717, AMUBLANCE 717, CHIEF 717-B, CHIEF 717-D. MCP now has control of the scene and waiting on FAA and NTSB. Our prayers are with the pilot, their family and their friends.
