The LDVFD is sad to announce the passing of Reverend Doctor Richard David Thompson. Rev. Thompson was a long time member of Laytonsville VFD and instrumental in the early days of EMS care for Montgomery County Fire Rescue. An award is named after him at the Public Service Training Academy for the top EMT student in each class. His dedicated work in the fire service was just part of the greatness of this man. He was the minister of St Paul's Methodist Church in Laytonsville for many years.
