On October 17, 2019, members from the Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department along with family and friends laid Past Chief Jim Snyder to rest at St. Paul Methodist Church in Laytonsville. He took his last ride through the town of Laytonsville on the station's antique fire truck named Minnie. Afterwards, the members of the Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department along with family and friends came back to the station for a Celebration of Life for Jim Snyder.
