The LDVFD is happy and proud to announce that Chief Murphy Richards has been inducted into the Maryland State Firemen's Association, Hall of Fame. Murphy has been a member of the LDVFD since 1969. He has been a dedicated member since day one and has served in every rank and position within our department. Murphy is still an operational chief officer, heavy driver on all apparatus and currently our department treasurer of our volunteer account. He's been instrumental in making our fire department run smooth for +55 years. In 1995 Murphy was inducted into the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire-Rescue Association Hall of Fame. You will always find Murphy at every fundraiser for our department. His dedication is unmatched. Thank you to his family who are also members of Laytonsville for supporting us and Murphy over the many years. Congratulations Murphy and thank you.
