On August 14, 2014, AT 2110 hrs., Montgomery dispatched Co. 17 units along with several other units from surrounding stations after receiving several calls about a house on fire. C717D arrived on scene at 8018 Warfield Rd. to find a 2 story single family home fully involved. C717D assumed Warfield command. Immediately, crews started a defensive attack as it was initially unsafe to enter the home due to several small explosions coming from the garage area and the fire spreading quickly. Once the fire was contained, firefighters were able to enter the structure to begin overhaul. Fortunately, both occupants and their dogs got out of the house safely. Both occupants were transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
