On September 29, 2014, at 0529 hrs., Montgomery dispatched Co. 17 and Co. 40 units for a report of a PIC at the 4600 block of Rt. 108. Co. 17 units arrived on scene to a two vehicle head-on collision with one patient trapped with serious injuries. RS717's crew stabilized the vehicle and extricated the patient from the vehicle and transferred care over to the EMS/Medic crews. The patient was taken to a local trauma center where they succumbed to their injuries. The other patient was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
