Laytonsville assists with Brush Fire at FDA White Oak

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 12:44 PM, Brush Engine 717, Brush 717, Tanker 717, and Canteen 717 were dispatched to the area of Cherry Hill Road and FDA Boulevard in Calverton and White Oak to assist with a brush fire.

The fire covered approximately 12 acres. Multiple crews worked together alongside mutual aid companies to contain and extinguish the blaze. Incident command managed the operation effectively.

Responding units included:
Engine 712 (Hillandale), Engine 841 (Calverton/PG), Engine 715 (Burtonsville), Engine 812 (College Park/PG), Engine 718 (Glenmont), Engine 724 (Colesville), Engine 833 (Kentland/PG), Engine 834 (Chillum-Adelphi/PG), Brush Engine 717 (Laytonsville), Brush Engine 713 (Damascus), HC Brush Engine 42 (Lisbon/HoCo), UTV712 (Hillandale), UTV725 (Aspen Hill), UTV731 (Quince Orchard), Brush 715 (Burtonsville), Brush 724 (Colesville), Brush 740 (Sandy Spring), Brush 705 (Kensington), Brush 733 (Potomac/Falls Rd), Brush 708 (Gaithersburg), Brush 717 (Laytonsville), HC Brush 128 (Waterloo/HoCo), HC Brush 47 (Lisbon/HoCo), HC Brush 28 (Ellicott City/HoCo), Tanker 704 (Sandy Spring), HC Tanker 5 (Clarksville/HoCo), Tanker 717 (Laytonsville), HC Tanker 11 (Scaggsville/HoCo), Tower 724 (Colesville), Tower 718 (Glenmont), Ambulance 724 (Colesville), Ambulance 715 (Burtonsville), MAB726 (North Bethesda), Rehab 800 (PG), Canteen 740 (Sandy Spring), Canteen 717 (Laytonsville), Battalion 701 (1st Battalion), Battalion 886 (PG), HC Battalion 1 (HoCo), Duty Chief 700, Volunteer Duty Chief 700, Safety 700, Maryland Department of Natural Resources—four brush units, Montgomery County Police, Montgomery County Roads Depot, a front end loader, and a skid loader.
